Biography
Naeem is a a specialist orthodontist and a hospital consultant. He graduated with honors from Newcastle University's School of Dental Sciences,where he earned the Newcastle University Expeditions Scholarship and Pitt-Ford prize. Upon graduating, Naeem took up positions in paediatric dentistry, restorative dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. He undertook his postgraduate training in orthodontics at the Leeds Dental Institute, St Luke's hospital, Bradford and Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Naeem delivers the full spectrum of orthodontic treatment options including fixed and removable appliances, as well as more discreet options like ceramic brackets and clear aligners. He strives to attain the best possible treatment results and maximise the patient experience on their orthodontic journey. This attention to detail was recognised by the European Board of Orthodontics at the recent European Orthodontic Congress in Athens. Naeem has lectured at national and international scientific meetings and conferences. He has been an invited speaker at the British Orthodontic Conference, FDI World Dental Congress, and the World Orthodontic Congress. His clinical interests include orthodontic mini-screws, clinical photography and orthodontic training and education. He teaches on the Yorkshire and Northern Irish orthodontic therapy courses and trains the next generation of orthodontists through his consultant role. Naeem's prize-winning research on the personalities of over 900 dental professionals, published in the American Journal of Orthodontics, was the largest study of its type to have been conducted, and formed the basis of his master's by research which was awarded with distinction. He has a keen interest in orthodontic research and is on the editorial board of the Orthodontic Update. Naeem holds a fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
