Dr Gerard Gillan

Biography
Mr. Gillan is an oral and maxillofacial surgery specialist whose primary focus in dental practice is intermediate level to complex level extraction procedures, in particular wisdom teeth. He qualified as a dentist in 1991 from the University of Glasgow and as a doctor in 1999 from Saint Bartholomews and the Royal London Medical School. He is a member/fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in dental surgery, surgery in general, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. In the past he has undertaken regular postgraduate teaching and participated in intense preparation revision teaching for postgraduates preparing for similar membership and fellowship exams. He has an extensive breadth and depth of experience in post graduate oral surgery, surgery in general, oral and maxillofacial facial surgery, teaching, and mentorship. He is regularly sought by postgraduates and specialist registrars in particular for one-to-one mentorship and is passionate about safe mentorship and providing a safe space for his mentees to hone all their clinical and communication skills. Dr Gillan is also passionate about undertaking a safe, caring and compassionate approach to caring for his patients and a significant proportion of his work is dedicated to providing safe care to extremely anxious adult and child patients both under local anaesthetic and sedation.
