Biography
Jon qualified from Leeds Dental Institute in 1992 and began his dental career at Farsley Dental Practice. In 1994, he took on a part-time role in Oral Surgery at Bradford Royal Infirmary, following completion of his vocational training year. In 1998, he became the proud owner of Farsley Practice and served as a VT and FD trainer until 2014, guiding and mentoring ten newly qualified dentists and supervising final-year students at Leeds Dental Institute. Dedicated to his professional growth, Jon expanded his expertise in Occlusion through a year-long BSOS course in 1996, he developed a keen interest in implants during a year long-course with a local Perio specialist in 1999. After a decade in practice, he formalized his learning by passing the membership exams of the Faculty of General Dental Practice in 2005. He achieved a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2009, where he was honored with the Dentsply gold medal for being the most outstanding student. Jon then pursued research at the University of Leeds, earning an MSc in Restorative Dentistry with a focus on endodontics, and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2012. In 2024, he achieved Fellowship at the new College of Dentistry. Beyond his practice, Jon has passionately shared his knowledge as a lecturer and mentor at various local, national, and international conferences, representing companies like Bredent, Kerr, and Kulzer. In 2012, he co-founded a referral-only practice in Harewood, Leeds, which has blossomed into a thriving multidisciplinary center that regularly hosts study clubs and offers mentorship to dentists looking to advance their skills.
