Biography

Trevor Hodge is a specialist orthodontist who has been at Portman Smile Clinic, Ilkley since the practice first opened in April 2022. In this role he treats both NHS and private patients (including labial and lingual fixed appliance treatments as well as aligners) When not in Ilkley Trevor is a Consultant Orthodontist at the Leeds Dental Institute where he has worked for more than 20 years providing postgraduate clinical training and treating patients with skeletal deformity and those with a history of cleft lip and palate. He is active in research having published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals including 2 book chapters. Career highlights In 2002 won the MOrth cases prize for the best treated cases nationally judged on difficulty, clinical management, and documentation. In 2007 he co-founded the first UK course to train Orthodontic Therapists In 2005 and 2018 won the British Orthodontic Society Maurice Berman Prize for Clinical Excellence In 2018 he achieved European Board accreditation and was a recipient of a World Federation of Orthodontists Regional Award of Merit. In 2024 he won the British Orthodontic Society Against the Odds Prize.
